A Bittersweet Goodbye to Our OG Baker

For those of you who have followed along for a while, you know the love story of Morg and Whit. 

The sweetest little volunteer baker that turned my life upside down and landed smack dab in the centre of it all. Morgan is the OG employee, the one who has seen it ALL. She has been with me since the beginning and shared in the heart wrenching, back breaking moments and celebrated the wins both big and small. 

She has been in the trenches, pulling the hours, getting rides home at 1am before she was old enough to drive because we couldn’t keep up with the baking. There have been failures and successes, location changes and graduations, proms, family cottage time and so many freakin laughs. There have been millions of baked goods and jobs we had a blast doing and jobs we could have done without. Every experience, every moment of growth, every time I needed a push or a cheering squad or some grounding she has done it. 


The Blue Door is here because of a 15 year old who waltzed into my life 4 years ago and changed it for the better. Morg, I hope you know I believe in you as much as you have believed in me! 

Morg is saying her goodbye tomorrow, heading into her 2nd year at Algonquin and on to bigger things next summer with a paid co-op. We hope she will pop by over the holiday to lend a hand and play with us in the kitchen!! Our team will miss the sarcasm and that dimpled smile but lucky for us, we’re a weird little fam and won’t leave you alone for long!
